Castlederg High School and Bangor Academy competed for the High School Cup on Tuesday afternoon at Ravenhill.
The final featured two new sides on our radar but neither side was overawed by the occasion and they set about their task with some relish.
Bangor enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges with Castlederg finding some relief with a couple of bustling runs through the middle. However, the pressure eventually told and Bangor’s Jake Burns bustled over in the left hand corner for the opening score to give Bangor a 5 – 0 lead after 11 minutes.
Castlederg came storming back and the high school enjoyed the better of the remainder of the half.
