Schools Subsidiary Shield: Regent House 3 The Royal School Armagh 25 Quarter Final

Wednesday morning saw the Saturday’s Covid Impacted Subsidiary Shield Quarter Final played in Newtownards, between Regent House and The Royal School Armagh.

To say the weather was unkind was an understatement. A stiff breeze blew down the pitch, mixed with light rain and a deluge. Underfoot the pitch was soft and had all the consistency of glue.

Such was the lack of visibility that Scrabo Tower could not be seen from the Comber Road pitches.

Regent House kicked off with the wind and the ball went dead. Armagh took advantage and a break lead to a James Campbell try after 3 minutes.

Playing with the elements Regent took 18 minutes to register on the scoreboard when Zach Campbell kicked a penalty goal to reduce the lead to 5 – 3.
