A bright and crisp morning saw Larne Grammar entertain Royal Belfast Academical Institution in the fourth round of the Medallion Shield at Upper Cairncastle Road.
The opening exchanges were even enough until Zac Molineux went over to give RBAI a 0 – 5 on the 7th minute. The visitors continued to press and 5 minutes later an unstoppable charge for the line from Blake McLean took the score to 0 – 10 in the Belfast sides favour.
RBAI were immediately back on the front foot again and a determined finish by Ethan Edgar, on the right stretched the visitors’ lead to 15 points. However, with no conversions being scored, Larne were still in it, the next score being crucial if they were to make an impression on the . . .
