A dull Saturday afternoon at Upritchard Park saw Bangor host Cork side Midleton in an AIL 2C clash.

The opening 20 minutes saw Bangor start the strongest, but it was Midleton who had the first chance of points with a penalty, but the kick went wide. Just 2 minutes later Bangor had the same opportunity, but that too was to go begging.
From much the same in-field position but a few yards further out from the posts, Bangor had another chance just minutes later, but it skimmed the left hand post and the score remained 0-0 despite 3 kicks at goal in 5 minutes.
Midleton pressed towards the end of the first quarter and sustained pressure in front of the Bangor line could have saw the opening score, but a stout Bangor defence won a penalty and cleared their lines.
