A well drilled Larne side came out on top against, their near neighbours, Carrick at the picturesque Glynn playing fields on Saturday morning.
Both teams were happy to get a hit out after a long lay off and the visitors applied the early pressure through their big pack. The Larne defence held firm and a turnover saw the home side break up field for a score in the corner.
This was pretty much the pattern of the first period with Carrick applying pressure and Larne breaking out. The speedy Larne back line, assisted by their mobile back row, reaped the rewards adding two further tries for a 15 – 0 lead at the break.
