Our New Logo

by

The more observant amongst you may have noticed the launch of our new logo today. It’s something we’ve been planning for a few years and we were just waiting for a few parts of the jigsaw to come together.

First and foremost, huge thanks to Dean Irvine for the exceptional artwork.

Interested in art from an early age, Dean was inspired by the styles of graphic illustration and animation as he progressed through school and college, gaining an HND (Graphic Art) and a BA Hons (Art & Design).

While training in the field of graphic design, he realised his continuing enthusiasm for photography and now mixes both mediums in his personal work, combining styles, techniques and values to create his illustrative photography and graphic drawing.

A member of Catchlight Camera Club, one of the leading clubs in Ireland and the UK, his work has achieved awards in Photographic Salons and Exhibitions worldwide.

The logo reflects how the site has developed over the years, what was once an Ulster Rugby supporters site, before the advent of Facebook and Twitter, has now become the leading site for club, women’s and schools’ rugby in Ulster and across Ireland and our new logo more closely reflects our coverage.

The player’s represent provincial, international, club, women’s and schools rugby and the artwork is influenced by past, present and future players for Ulster and Ireland brought together in a classic front row stance, the absolute cornerstone of any team in rugby. The ancient mythology of the red hand continues to inspire, it remains and always will.

It’s been a difficult 14 months for the site, without our core competitions, but we have used the time to improve our offering and we are really excited to get back out and cover all those teams and players that have continued to support us. We still have a few changes to complete but we’ll be ready and out with our cameras when club and schools competitions resume.

Can’t wait!
