Ulster A have reverted to their academy players for their away trip to the Dragons after their misguided move to bolster their team last week against Leinster.
In a spectacular backfire Ulster A were absolutely hammered in a hapless first half performance against their Leinster counterparts after the “senior teamers” failed to gel with the, up to then, undefeated academy and club players that had been performing so well.
Luke Pollock, Callum Reid, Tom Stewart, JJ McKee, Aaron Hall and Matthew Agnew come into the starting line up with Hall and Agnew making their first start of the season. Zack McCall, Joe Dunleavy, Azur Allison and Lewis Finlay also return to start from the bench.
Interestingly, Connor Rankin is also on the bench for this one with Ethan McIlroy given a chance at full back. Disappointingly, the Ulster a talisman Peter Cooper misses out on this one.
Ulster A should be clear favourites for this one as they and Leinster have dominated this competition to date. Dragons have been involved in high scoring matches throughout the tournament but they have also been conceding plenty and a high paced open game should play into Ulster’s hands.
