Ireland U20: And then there was one.

The Ireland U20 side has been named for their 5th place play of match against England at Rosario, Argentina. Kick off 19:30 UK/IRE (Live on World Rugby web media.)

The disappointing news for Ulster readers is that there is only one Ulster player starting, namely, Azur Allison (Ballymena), who starts at No. 8. They must breed them tough up round the Braid as Ulster’s only other representative left standing is another Ballymena Academy old boy Angus Kernohan who currently turns out for Queens. Kernohan is named amongst the 12 replacements but I’d be surprised if he doesn’t get a run out.

There have been quite a few changes in the back line, both positional and there is another couple of new faces up front.

I don’t think Ireland played particularly well against Italy but I’m surprised at some of the changes.

Anyway, the starting XV and the raft of replacements, together with their stats . . .
