The teams are up for the World Rugby U20 Championship 9th Place Semi Final between Ireland U20 and Scotland U20 which takes place in Perpignan on Tuesday afternoon. Kick off 4:00 pm local, 3:00 pm UK/IRE.
As expected, it’s been a difficult tournament for the Irish team who were drawn in a tough group. However they will be disappointed that they failed to pick up a win in the pool stages and they will be keen to make a statement, and secure qualification for next season’s tournament, over the next two games.
They face familiar foes in Scotland U20 and the nature of their win against the Scots in the Six Nations fourth round match shows that they can’t take a win for granted. They have continued to show defensive lapses in this tournament and they still need to produce a full 80 minute performance.
