Ballymena Academy picked up the Medallion Shield this afternoon at the Kingspan Stadium with a 10 – 8 win against Campbell College.

Campbell opened the scoring with a successful penalty from out-half Ollie Ralston on the 5th minute.

Ballymena responded at the start of the second quarter with a well taken try from No 8 Harry Andrews which was expertly converted from out wide by out-half Ross McKay to give Ballymena a 7 – 3 lead.

However Campbell regained the lead just before half time with an unconverted try from No 8 Luke Collins pushing the score to 7 – 8 in Campbell’s favour.

In a tense second half the only score was a successful penalty from Ballymena’s McKay who’s 53rd minute effort decided the game in Ballymen’s favour.
