The Women’s All Ireland Cup kicks off this Sunday, 7th January. There will be three Ulster clubs involved as Ballynahinch and Malone join Cooke in this season’s draw.

It’s difficult to know what way things will go at Ballynahinch but logic would indicate a comfortable win for Blackrock even though the Dublin outfit have been somewhat erratic this season.

The match comes maybe a season too early for Malone who have improved dramatically this season but Cooke, after two defeats to Railway Union, have entered their, now traditional, period of mid season turmoil and may be vulnerable if Malone can stay in the game for an extended period.  It should be an interesting match.

With the top two All Ireland League sides, UL Bohemian and Railway Union, receiving a bye into the next round . . .
