Some of the glitz has been taken off the Danske Bank Schools Rugby Quarter Finals due to the #skigate drama which forced Friends School Lisburn to withdraw from their match against Belfast Royal Academy.
While Friends will be the first to hold up their hands and admit they made a monumental blunder, it’s quite disappointing that the Ulster Branch couldn’t find any empathy for the game they are supposed to nurture. They had a real chances to be pro-active leaders in this fiasco but instead came across as dusty old codgers with their heads stuck in the rule books!
Anyway, enough of the moaning let’s get to the results for the matches that were played.
From our latest rankings we would have expected RBAI, Methody and Wallace to go through (plus Friends). However Ballymena Academy bucked the trend, and the rankings, the 3rd placed team toppling second place Wallace, at Wallace to boot. A formidable result for . . .
