Ulster U18 Girls travel to Athlone this Sunday to take on their Connacht counterparts in the Inter provincial series. Dubarry Park, Kick off 2:30pm
The team will travel with some confidence to Athlone following their 10 – 5 win against, tournament favourites, Leinster, in Armagh, last Saturday evening in what was a highly entertaining match.
There are a few changes to the team that recorded that first historic win with the impressive Vikki Irwin and Luinda Kinghan starting this one from the bench as the coaches look to test all their resources. Brittany Hogan and Ellie Ingram get the chance to show case their skills this time round as they step in to the right wing and out half berths respectively.
Up front, the injured Hannah Beattie drops out of the squad as does Bethany McDowell. Keelin Brady steps up from the bench and Katie Hetherington and Ellie Rix join the squad.
Centre pairing of Leah McGoldrick and Brittany Hogan were particularly impressive last week, with Vikki Irwin calling the shots at no. 10, so it’ll be interesting to see how Lisa Mullen gets this hugely impressive back line moving.
Up front we enjoyed the performances of Bethany McDowell, Claire Boles and Storm Cobain in a hard working back row with Keelin Brady slotting in well in the second half.
