Ulster U18 Girls travel to Athlone this Sunday to take on their Connacht counterparts in the Inter provincial series. Dubarry Park, Kick off 2:30pm

The team will travel with some confidence to Athlone following their 10 – 5 win against, tournament favourites, Leinster, in Armagh, last Saturday evening in what was a highly entertaining match.

There are a few changes to the team that recorded that first historic win with the impressive Vikki Irwin and Lucinda Kinghan starting this one from the bench as the coaches look to test all their resources.  Lisa Mullen and Ellie Ingram get the chance to show case their skills this time round as they step in to the right wing and out half berths respectively.

Up front, the injured Hannah Beattie drops out of the squad as does Bethany McDowell. Keelin Brady steps up from the bench and Katie Hetherington and Ellie Rix join the squad.

Centre pairing of Leah McGoldrick and Brittany Hogan were particularly impressive last week, with Vikky Irwin calling the shots at no. 10, so it’ll be interesting to see how Mullen gets this hugely impressive back line moving.

Ulster Women U18:  Ciara Browne, Kelly McCormill, Leah McGoldrick, Brittany Hogan, Ellie Ingram, Lisa Mullen, Carla Rafferty, Emma Kearney, Sara Whitely,  Neve Jones, Caolinn McCormack, Natalie Kinghan, Keelin Brady, Claire Boles, Storm Cobain. Replacements: Megan Brodie, Grace Shrestha, Tammy Millar, Katie Hetherington, Ellie Rix, Vicky Irwin, Lucinda Kinghan, Dolores Hughes. (Kate Aughey – travelling sub).

We thoroughly enjoyed the girls first competitive outing last week in Armagh so we’ll be making the trip to Dubarry Park, Athlone on Sunday for the 2:30pm kick off. Report and pictures up next week.
