All Ireland Cup. Cooke v Galwegians Preview

It’s Ulster v Connacht take two this weekend as Cooke take on Glawegians in the All Ireland Cup Final on Saturday afternoon at Old Belvedere RFC, Anglesea Road, Dublin. Kick off 2:30 pm.

Both teams showed impressive form in the semi-finals with Galwegians beating Blackrock 7 – 0 at home only to be upstaged by Cooke’s 13 – 21 away win against league champions UL Bohemians in Limerick. 

Previous form would indicate a win for the Connacht outfit, who’s big pack came out on top in a 7 – 24 win at Shaws Bridge way back in November, but Cooke have showed impressive form since then and coach Grace Davitt will be confident that her improving team will be able to reverse that scoreline. 

Indeed Davitt’s team have been playing some attractive rugby of late, very much in the style of the seasoned international herself, with club captain Ilse van Staden and veteran Eliza Downey very much to the . . .
