Women: Teams up for Ulster v Leinster Inter Provincial.

Ulster’s Goose and Maverick (Philip Doyle and Jarrett Truscott) have selected their “Top Guns” for the opening Women’s Inter Provincial of the season.

The team, which includes five uncapped players, face Leinster Women at Portadown Rugby Club on Saturday afternoon. KO 3:00pm.

Regular readers will know we’ve been providing exclusive coverage of the Ulster Women’s camps in the build up to the Inter Provincial campaign, but, as match day approaches, I don’t want to give too much away as to how I feel the teams will match up. I will say, however, that Goose still manages to surprise and delight me with his selections.

A  good indication of the quality of work the coaches have been carrying out over the summer is the fact that the five new caps (pictured above) all bring extra options to the team.

Starting in second row is Omagh’s Naomi McCullagh who really is one to watch. Tall and athletic she provides excellent line-out and ball carrying options and . . .
