Schools’ Prediction League 2013/14: Week 3 Opinion

,

Let me start this week by saying I don’t want to boast, but… wait, who am I kidding? Of course I want to! In a personal-best since I started these articles, it was a full-house for myself and quite a few others; so watch as I quite probably crash and burn with this week’s predictions:

Ballyclare HS v  Ballymena Academy

Both of these sides come into this fixture with less than suitable form, only one win in four to be precise; but looking at the bigger picture of the season may give a better indicator of the outcome for this match-up: Ballymena have both the better win ratio and have played stronger opposition than Ballyclare. While the away side can claim victories over the likes of Campbell, Belfast HS and Wallace, Ballyclare’s greatest boasts seem to be wins over Bangor and Dalriada. I believe this shows Ballymena are the stronger and that the result will mirror either sides’ first fixture of the season thus ending Ballyclare’s chances of making seven Cup semifinals in a row . . .
