Johann Muller, Jared Payne and Ruan Pienaar have been named in the Ulster starting XV to face Benetton Treviso at Ravenhill tomorrow (kick off 18:00).
Muller and Payne return having recovered from injury, while Pienaar is included after being rested for the match against Zebre in Italy last week. It’s good to have these top line players back though i do have a minor worry about their match fitness within the Ulster environment.
The only other change to the team that started last weekend sees Sean Doyle preferred at open-side, with Mike McComish moving to the bench. It’s a big game for Doyle who needs to impress in the absence of Henry whose effectiveness has been missed of late.
Payne starts at fullback alongside Andrew Trimble and Craig Gilroy in the back three and you couldn’t really argue with that back three given Tommy Bowe’s absence. David McIlwaine gets the call as replacement on the bench and he is another youngster who needs to seize his chance should he get on given . . .
