School: Campbell Mini-Rugby Blitz Day

Well, there are worse ways to spend a Friday afternoon. The smell of a barbeque wafting over freshly manicured rugby pitches populated by over two hundred boys all enjoying a Mini-Rugby Blitz day at Campbell College.

It was as if organiser, John Anderson, had picked the conditions personally. If only the songs on his playlist had been as good! Six pitches, six groups and twenty one teams in all came to what is fast becoming a Blue Riband event in the schools Mini-Rugby calendar.

The sunny day led to some great running rugby and the teams from Ulster and Dublin took full advantage. In the group that my wee team (Mossley Primary School) was in the stand out team was Gilnahirk. Their coach can be justly proud of a skilful and talented team who showed great flair and steely determination in the tackle and ruck to win all of their matches. Some great passing and a . . .
