Brian O’Driscoll has featured heavily in the media this week following Declan Kidney’s announcement that he would not be captaining his side for this opening Six Nations match. Critics were quick to assume that he is well into the twilight of his career, and perhaps no longer good enough to wear the shirt for which he has won 121 caps.

False!

In yet another performance where he was named man of the match, he has proved his doubters wrong with a master class in leadership, execution and vision, surely positioning himself within Warren Gatland’s crosshairs for the trip down under in the summer.

    Good report, the old master O’Driscoll showed there is still a lot of life left in him.
    Italy brightened up my Sunday, will be interesting what they will do in Edinburgh.
    Also Sunday might be interesting!
