PRO12: Glasgow 20 Ulster 14

Ulster suffered their third Pro12 defeat with, nearest rivals, Glasgow securing a bonus point 20 – 14 win to close the gap to 3 points at the top of the table.

A depleted Ulster side struggled to contain their opponents who scored four tries to Ulster’s one and the visitors can thank the profligate goal kicking of Glasgow’s Horne who failed to land even the simplest of kicks.

A trip to Glasgow is one of the easier and generally one of the more enjoyable trips on the Pro12 calendar, especially with pints around the £2 mark. However, recent success has led to an upsurge in crowds and their verbosity and this, added to a lack of vantage points with the race track putting miles between you and the pitch, it all made for a less enjoyable match day experience in the tiny ground.

However, given the recent form of our hosts and the bare bones of a team we were putting out, we had travelled with low expectations with a losing bonus the height of our expectations.

Games like this are often scrappy affairs as teams struggle to gel as new players join the fold but despite Ulster conceding two . . .

  1. Need to front up on Friday night, the Italians will have us in their sights after the thumping they gave Munster yesterday 🙁
