Women: Ulster Announce Interprovincial Squad.

Ulster Women’s Rugby have announced a 30 player squad for the upcoming Interprovincial Series.

The squad features seven players from each of Belfast Harlequins, Cooke and Queen’s University with City of Derry and Enniskillen weighing in with three apiece. Newry, Blackrock and Sligo are also represented in the squad which will be captained this season by City of Derry’s Stacey Lea Kennedy with Cooke’s Grace Davitt as Vice Captain.

Kennedy, Davitt, Ashleigh Baxter, Nikki Caughey and Amy Davis all add Irish International experience to a young squad and with the likes of Gemma McCutcheon, Claire McLaughlin, Imogen Porter, Zoe Templeton, Aoife Walsh and Dani Boyd expected to be there or there about’s when the Ireland training squad is announced it could be an exciting series for this Ulster side.

Certainly there is potential for an absolutely exceptional back line with tremendous strength in depth in . . .

    Hi I’m finding it hard to keep up with players from different clubs. A lot of young players in this years Ulster Squad haven’t been given all the publicity they deserve, there’s a lot more talent that hasn’t been mentioned than the talent that has been publicized throughout this website

      Hi Claire – sorry about that but we can only cover one game a week. As we sponsor Queen’s and a couple of the girls at Quins then that’s where we send our resources. We have covered all Ulster women’s teams in the AIL2 but if you would like more coverage for a particular team then send in reports and photos and I’ll certainly put them up.   4. Nope between work, uni, babies, families its plain to see the women in rugby are in it for the love of the beautiful game!!! 😀 keep up the good work tho! I look forward to your reports each week

  5. So would I Gemma – the site is the biggest sponsor of women’s rugby in Ulster and I would love more of the girls to get involved but unfortunately there are not many have the time.
