Women: Carrick end season with a win!

Carrick ladies travelled to Lakeside to take on Ballyshannon ladies in a top of the table tie which could be vital in deciding the ladies division 3 league winners.

The visitors kicked off the first half and after a brief period of play, the bulk of the game was conducted in the Ballyshannon half. The strong Ballyshannon pack kept Carrick out until out half Arlene Devine kicked a penalty to take the score to 0 – 3.

Carrick made several attempts on the line, but were unable to score despite having four try attempts held up over the line. First forward Sabrina Higgins went over the line twice in quick succession to be followed by flanker Robyn Kelly and out half Arlene Devine but all were adjudged to be held up leaving the score at the half time whistle as 0 – 3 to Carrick.

The second half kicked off with Ballyshannon making an attack on the Carrick line, however Carrick countered and found themselves back deep in the Ballyshannon half. Prop Lydine Wilson pushed the ball over the line for their fifth try . . .
