Well, what do you say about this one? Both sides were pretty poor, but at the end of the day Munster just wanted it that bit more, well not really a bit, a lot more . . .

    There maybe some good to come from young players facing tough defensive games in that the win in the semi final was down to concentration and defence.

    No side with a weak defence has won anything . There is no doubt that scoring is the hardest thing to do but only if the defence is sound.

    The ulster weakness this year and in previous years has been the inabilitity to retain possession . We have had a tendency to kick away possession to quickly and/or become isolated in attack thereby being penalised for failing to release the ball . ( Although at times with some referees the whistle seems to be blown quicker against Ulster than the opposition for this offence.

    Whether the weakness I have identified is down to an unsettled backrow which is substancially weaker when Ferris is absent or trying to hard on occasions is open to debate.
