AIL1B: Round 11 Results

The Club match of the weekend certainly lived up to it’s billing with Friday night’s floodlit match, between Balynahinch and Dungannon at Ballymacarn Park, producing six tries in an action packed encounter. Unfortunately for the teams the match produced the result that neither side wanted with both Hinch and Gannon losing ground in this oh so close league by virtue of a 22 points all draw.

Dungannon raced into a 7 – 17 lead at the break thanks to tries from Chris Cochrane and James McMahon, both converted by Michael Lawton who added a first half penalty. Chris Napier replied for Hinch and the home team had the better of the second half storming into a 22 – 17 lead with tries from James Simpson and David Nicholson with James Lash adding a second conversion and a penalty.

As the game stretched into injury time Dungannon’s Mark O’Shea went over for the equalising try with the last play of the game, Lawton was unable to convert leaving the score Ballynahinch 22 Dungannon . . .
