Women’s AIL: Week 6 Results.

It was a promising weekend for Ulster clubs in the Women’s All Ireland Leagues with all four teams that played this Sunday putting in impressive performances in victory and defeat.

In AIL1, Cooke Ladies went down 12 – 20 at home to Highfield with Nikita Armstrong and Shirelle Wilson touching down for the home side. Grace Davitt added a conversion.

Despite the defeat it was an improved performance from Cooke who are looking to be finally getting their mojo back with good intensity and plenty of effort in defence. With so many new players this season there is still a touch of naivety out wide but there are definitely more positives for the Belfast side than earlier in the season.

If Cooke can transfer this type of performance to the matches after the mid season split they should start climbing up the league.

There was no lack of mojo in AIL2N as two Ulster sides went head to head on Sunday afternoon with Enniskillen entertaining Belfast Harlequins. Quins managed to come out . . .
