Magners League: Leinster 34 Ulster 26

Leinster ripped Ulster apart in an opening blitz to claim a comfortable victory in this crucial Magners League clash at the RDS on Saturday night. Ulster doggedly stuck to their task in the second half giving the score line a degree of respectability but the final score doesn’t reflect the gulf in class between the two teams.

Tries from Richardt Strauss, Luke Fitzgerald, Shane Horgan and Heinke van der Merwe had the game won and the bonus point in the bag before the break. Shaggy added another try after the break but Ulster deserve some credit as they staged a mini revival in the second half with tries by Wannenburg and Gilroy. It shouldn’t disguise the work that is required if Ulster are to truly become a European heavyweight.

I would like to say that Ulster were humbled by a blistering performance from the soon to be European Champions but sadly it was more a case of Ulster incompetence than Leinster brilliance and for the second week in a row the big red FAIL rubber stamp should be applied to the forehead of Adam D’Arcy in training this week.

While our latest signing may have many admirable qualities . . .

@Tevez you are having a laugh to get to Bristol from Newport for an 11am flight you would have to get a train before 7am and that is not happening! ๐Ÿ™‚

PS stop rising to the bait but it is good to see the URSC can go to all matches in Italy and France but none in Scotland or Wales. ๐Ÿ™‚

You can get back to the URSC BBQ by getting the Easyjet flight from Bristol at 11am…..no excuses I’m afraid….

    Kimble was in Dublin too….

Kimble and/or other URSC “fancy dans” were in Treviso, Aironi, Biarritz, Connacht, MK & Munster…..not quite one big match….

URSC couldn’t get any other Saturday dates for BBQ…..it was thought we might be in Magners play offs and H Cup matches over the next few weeks……imagine the furore if URSC had picked one of those dates….

URSC is a broad church….and some can’t afford a day off work, a night in a hotel and an airfare…..doesn’t make ’em bad people or dare I say it, poor supporters.

Is FRU become an elitist travel club…..?

    1. Italy, South of Fance a couple of interpros and of course the QF. Hmm! I see that they have made the real hardship trips to South Wales in that list of yours Mr T. For the cost of those flights to Italy and South of France they could have went to every Welsh and Scottish away game. ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜†

The FRU has always been an elite travel club and there has been a member of the FRU Elite at every away game for the last 3 years apart form that Dragons match that was played on a Sunday evening.

Don’t forget I know the URSC Committee and at least three of them are “Bad People” as you say, especially that Kimble! ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜†

(Don’t know why I’m replying – I’m not even going, its just Ragin and Flat Top! So see you at the BBQ. Save me a sausage ;))

@John … quite right they should change their name to Ulster Rugby Supporters Club (Home games only plus a glamour away Heiny )

We can do without the “I’m too posh for Newport brigade” I hope they don’t choke on their sausages! ๐Ÿ™‚

A disappointing show from so called Ulster Supporters , 25 on the Official Supporters Bus and lucky to see another 25 in the ground; pathetic.

We will be lucky to get 10 supporters in Newport which could decide whether we get a top four finish.

You do make a difference … get there and give the URSC BBQ a miss! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I can’t believe the URSC are holding their BBQ the day after the Dragons game. How are real supporters expected to get back from Newport on time.

If it was a real supporters club, and not just an idle frippery for the chairman, they would know these things. Maybe they should change their name to the UROBGSC.

Ulster Rugby One Big Game Supporters Club as most members only seem to go to one big game a year!

I blame Kimble with his fancy dan ways! ๐Ÿ˜†
