Four to Follow: Teah Maguire

Following her outstanding display for Ulster against Leinster on Sunday the selection of 18 year old Teah Maguire as one for the future was an easy decision to make.

With outstanding timing in the tackle and a cool head under pressure we can pay Teah no higher complement than her performance reminded us of Bryn Cunningham at his pomp, a classy display indeed.

The FRU caught up with Teah after the game to find out how she’d made it this far…

When did you start playing rugby?

I first got involved with rugby at Olderfleet Primary School and I continued with a bit of tag at secondary school. I was also involved when Andrew O’Toole ran a girls side at Larne RFC for a season but up until January of this year when I joined Cooke I hadn’t played for a few years.

What made you take it up?

I’ve no family background in the game so really it was the encouragement at primary school that got me started then getting involved with Andrew at Larne kept the interest going.
