Match day!! And what a day it was and again the Irish supporters were out in force.
We all met in the sports bar for a spot of lunch and watched the Scotland v France game on the TV. The Scots put up a good fight but the French team came away with the victory.

From here, the supporters (Green Army) all headed out to the pitch side to await KO met by an impressive amount of USA fans with the majority dressed in bikinis and in great form. Worried that they were going to out number us we weren’t long in out-singing them!
This game was a key game for us having lost the first game to England, the Irish girls brought the same intensity as they did with the English and got the opening try in the 6th minute. This went to Joy Neville, I was sooooo happy for her, what a way to mark her 50th cap!!
I sent updates to the site during the match and boy was I kept busy as the Americans got two tries with the Irish putting across 4. With that we get the bonus point! 🙂 final score 22-12.
What a result, it is the first time Ireland have ever beaten the USA and you could see just how much it meant to us when that final whistle blew! I was again filled with teary eyes when Goose came over hugged me and told me “that was for you”.
I’m so so lucky to be here experiencing this all with the squad, that evening we presented Joy with a gift for her 50th cap.
This is certainly one day I wont be forgetting in a long long time.
