Three games into his reign it’s beginning to look like Kidney’s bubble, if not exactly burst, has deflated quite a bit. First among the prick-ers is none other than the sainted O’Gara who had a poor series and in this instance had one of his worst games for Ireland.

Ireland have not had a better chance of beating Argentina in a long time. Argentina only featured seven of the 22 that beat Ireland in the 2007 World Cup with perhaps their biggest loss, Hernandez, withdrawing minutes before kick off.

Ireland struggled to put away a feisty Argentina side and it is somewhat ironic that the supposed “Man of the Match” Ronan O’Gara was perhaps the main reason for Ireland’s poor play.

  1. Cipriani will be back a better player. One has only to look at the 20 year old Argentine out half to see that it is possible to rise to the occasion. What Ireland can’t afford is another generation of missed opportunities. What sort of player would Paddy Wallace be now if he had been trusted earlier in his career?

Now much as agree with the need to rebuild I would hate to see Keatley being exposed to soon to International Rugby one has only to look at the effect that it has had on Danny Cipriani to realise that it might be a disaster in the making, Sexton and O’ Connor are equally short of the necessary experience and at the moment Sexton’s game is so like O Gara’s ( robotic) it would be change for no change
